Description
Wow. What an elegant piece of craftsmanship.
Carved from beautiful red Djalla wood, this djembe features an exquisite Beledugu “chess piece” profile that really allows the natural beauty of the timber to shine. The two tone wood colouring is simply gorgeous.
The shell is full-sized but carries a slightly smaller head, making it comfortable for a wide range of players. Better still, it’s lighter than many hardwood djembes, a feature many of you have been asking for.
Fitted with striking Rust coloured Dyneema rope, this drum has a bright, melodic voice and delivers big bass. It’s tuned with accompaniment playing in mind but still has more than enough projection to cut through when you want to solo.
This is one of those rare drums that’s exciting every time you sit down to play it.
Our Malian carvers have absolutely nailed this one. Don’t let it slip through your fingers.
Selected by Wooden Roots for its natural beauty and quality, this drum was 100% handcrafted in Mali, West Africa.
