Rhythm @ Roots Mini Dunun workshop “ballet style”

Welcome to Rhythm @ Roots – seated mini duns “ballet style” workshop!  Join us for an exciting in-person event at Wooden Roots. In this workshop you will learn the incredible patterns played on dununs when they are set up “ballet style”. Dununs were introduced in this style to mimic the sound of three artists each playing a dunun drum (Sangban, Kenkeni, Dununba). At Wooden Roots, we often play ballet style drums in our workshops and many students are looking to gain the confidence to play these exhilirating drum patterns alongside the djembe (and of course, on time). This workshop will explore the dunun pattern being used in the Rhythm @ Roots Djembe class so that you can step up to the bigger sets of dunun with confidence and flair.
