DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful set of quality Dunun’s, also pronounced Duns, DunDuns, DjunDjun, DounDoun, and referred to as Bass drums or the Mother drums. This set of Dunun were hand-carved and built in Bamako, Mali. Carved from Guenou aka Hare, Khadi, Gueni or Balafon wood which is a hard dense wood and promotes a beautiful rich sound. All Wooden Roots Dunun sets come with a pair of traditional hand-carved Dunun sticks.
This full size set consists of a Dununba, Sangban & Kenkeni of which measurements and weights are listed below. All three drums in this set are headed with matching cow skins from Mali and are in tune with each other to produce the best tonal “Timbre” bass sounds.
