Description
The first thing to notice about this drum is the lightness as I pull it off the shelf to look at it. Don’t underestimate the power of this drum, its truly authentic and sounds amazing. This wood is called Melina and this is its natural look of the wood which is also called “Bois Blanc”. You get the true authentic sound but because the wood is lighter in wait you get the added benefit of the weight coming in at an astounding 18.6lbs / 8.4kg. This is a BIG DJEMBE with booming bass, nice bright tones and crisp slaps. It has iconic traditional Malian carvings from the olden times and is a perfect example of how Malian djembes used to be carved. Our amazing rope with Blue with Yellow & Navy Blue compliments this drum visually and also helps it to stay in tune.
