This Guinea djembe was hand carved and sent to us by decorative master carver Mohamed Keleb Sylla. The stems decorative carving style is Mohamed’s take on a natural traditional Mali style carving but carved with the precision of the Guinean way of carving. You can also see his famous signature carved beneath the bowl of the djembe. His impeccable and ornate carving speaks volumes to the level of detail on this djembe, I am honoured to be able to bring this djembe to life here in Suffolk UK.
