When the feeling is right you just have to build it! This djembe is one of the sweetest sounding djembes that I have built. This “Iron wood” Gele djembe was carved very nicely indeed. It was hand carved by our master carvers in Bamako, Mali. The goal was to carve it so that its new owner would feel proud & confident when they play it - Its thick, dense and stands tall - best of all it sounds amazing. I trusted my feeling, now so should you.
